    Hey,

I am interested in converting some old LP's I have to archive in digital format.

Anyone familiar with this process and have an LP player they would recommend?

I came across an ION ITTSUSB Record player on ebay, anyone have experience with one of these?

    Thanks,

Some of those cheap devices give off flat and tinny sound. Something about those having a ceramic head instead of a magnetic one. I'm still learning. I'm eying a $600 TEAC system.

Hey LS, thanks for the reply.

Some of those cheap devices give off flat and tinny sound.
Good info, I would not be happy if that happened.

Maybe I will see if I can find one at a brick and morter store so I can just return it if I am not happy about the results.

    I'm eying a $600 TEAC system.
That sounds really nice, but would be out of my price range at this time. Also, I only have a few records I want to convert over, mostly from my childhood and oop.

    Thanks,

I was contemplating on getting one of these but instead opted for the easy option of a standalone model. I got a Bush Turntable CD Radio system for Christmas which was about £69 and captures onto SD/MMC cards. Have only used it a few times so far but even so am quite impressed with it. I can then upload the contents of the card onto PC and play around with the quality a bit (get rid of scratches and pops etc using Nero.) It also has a USB connection on it so might be able to connect direct to PC but haven't tried that.
