    Why is it that when using virtualdub I can capture video using the compression codecs that came with my ati all in wonder card, such as ati VCR1 and ati VCR2. But if i edit the file and then try to save as AVI using these same codecs I get format restrictions such as,
    codec may only support YUV
    codec might be locked
    codec might be decompression only

    You are probably using ATI MMC 6.3. If you upgrade to 7.1, you'll be able to use any compression codec in VDub.
