I will cut to the short version of my dilema. I am trying to record video from my JVC HDD camcorder to a DVD using a CD-RW disk with Cyberlink software provided by JVC. I am able to edit the video I want burned, but when I begin that process I receive the following error message after it begins to generate video and stops at 80% "Failed to launch Power Producer project. This may be due to the following. 1. This version does not support this disk type. 2. This version does not support this utitlity or function 3. some video files in teh project are missing.

Can someone please help a non-tech savy dad who just wants to burn some video clips of his family. Thanks.

Don't use a cd-rw disc. In theory they can be burned and erased over and over, but it has to be done correctly or it will not read in any device other than the one that created it. CD-R's are 20 cents each now. Do your editing on your hd, and burn the edited version to cd-r.

you probably don't want to burn to cd. the video off the cam will be dvd type. and needs to be authored to dvdr. only vcd, svcd, divx, and a couple oddballs can be put on cd and played on standalones.

Yeah, my bad. I assumed you were doing vcd's. A dvd-r is pretty universal.
