  1. Ive tried to make a few VCDs with Nero, and had them go bad, later realizing they are pal format(352x288) My Philips DV-711 is supposed to play these anyway...Im wondering if there is a difference when making a VCD in Nero if its a NTSC or PAL movie, and if it creates the file differently...
Im wondering if i tell nero its a PAL, it will burn as a true PAL, and my DVD player will then work...
    TIA!

well, there is a tricky part with pal vcds, as far as i know, you have to set menu mode or something like that to PAL, it is ntsc as standard. if you dont do it, you wont get a working cd, or at least i dont.

its somewhere in the `start` window, when you just selected svcd if im correct.

right now im playing with TSCV, so i dont recall it very good.

(PS the mpeg itself works the same in pal as in ntsc)

  4. TSCV is a GUI for VCDImager.

VCDImager is probably the best and most powerful VCD/SVCD authoring program in existence and is open source.
