  1. If this problem has been resolved before and posted here on the forum, my apologies because I wasn't able to find it.

I've been burning VCDs for quite some time now and have not come to a single problem until now. Whenever I now burn a VCD, and play it off a friends DVD player who didn't have a problem with my other burnt VCDs, can no longer play my newer VCDs. My friend and I thought it was the brand name that I used at the time. But when I used the same brand that worked before on his DVD player, it too doesn't play. The DVD player recognizes the VCD disc, but won't play back the video and audio. So we tested it out on his Windows XP Media Player program to play it, nothing. They won't play. However, the workable VCDs that I had burnt for him before did play on his computer. So then, why the hell is it now that my VCDs are no longer playing on his DVD player and computer when they work just fine on my computer and DVD player? If anyone can help me with this problem, it'll be greatly appreciated.

  2. Have you changed anything else in the way you are creating your VCDs?

    Regards.

  4. The answer to vitualis' question is no. I've not changed a single thing when I do a direct burn of an MPEG file from my computer to a CD. Even disc copied VCDs don't seem to play on his DVD player and computer any more.

When I create my VCDs using Nero Burn 5.0.0.3, I use the wizard to set up the program to burn VCDs. The only thing that I do afterwards is drag-and-drop the MPEG file to the destination window, then burn. I don't know if this is applicable, but all my burnt VCDs, including the workable ones, are not standard compliant.

amblix, did you try out your unworkable VCDs on your computer before? If you haven't, they should be able to play. I don't see why they won't in your case. If they don't play on your computer, then you might be in the same situation as I am.
