  1. We bought a 20 inch Samsung TX_R2035 analog standard television last year. At the moment I just have a coaxial cable from the vcr and come composite cables from the dvd player hooked into it. I have been reading about "progressive video" and also about componet cables.

My question is if I was to invest in some componet cables for our DVD Player, could we experience "progressive video" which is supposed to be twice the resolution of an interlaced signal? Even though this is a standard definition television, could we still experience a sharper picture because of progressive video?

Thank you for any advice you can give me on this matter.

The picture on the middle of page 9 of the instruction manual for your television has what you are looking for.

The answer to your question is yes.

    yup.
your specific television may or may not benefit from the progressive scan mode on any given DVD player, but going from composite video cable to a component video cable will still yield a vast improvement in picture quality.
