i have a desktop computer at the moment and i would like to buy a laptop.
I was wondering what would be the fastest out of these and by how much % on an average.
1) Desktop Computer: 1GB RAM, 80 GB Memory, 3.00GHz processor, Pentium 4.
OR..................
2) Laptop: 2GB RAM, 160GB Memory, 1.80GHz processor, Intel Core 2 Duo.
Also, what is the best brand for buying laptops.
Any suggestions will be grately appreciated,
Thanks.

Bought a HP Pavilion dv9540 Entertainment for my daughter a few months ago. We're really satisfied with it, and it beats every other computer in our home, including my (now old) overclocked Pentium 4, 3 GHz, hands down.

Unless you need RAID, or dual head video, or more than 16GB of RAM, or die hard BYOPC, there is very little reason to buy a desktop.

Well its still generally cheaper to upgrade desktops than laptops, even these days. You can also buy those micro pc units if you don't want to take up awhole lot of deskspace. Some are smaller than laptops almost.Originally Posted by singsingDonatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
