    Greetings Folks

I would like to convert some dvd movies of mine to watch on my Dell Axim (runs Windows Mobile 5).

CorePlayer says it support these video formats:

H.264 (AVC), MKV, MPEG-1, MPEG-4 part 2 (ASP), DivX, XviD, WMV, MJPEG, NRE, MSVIDEO1

    and thse audio formats:

MP3, MP2, AAC, MKA, WMA, WAV, OGG, Speex, WAVPACK, TTA, FLAC, MPC, AMR, ADPCM, ALaw, MuLaw, Midi

I'm here asking of course for a method to do the conversion.

    My priorities are these though

ease of conversion (fewest tools and steps to remember)
method which allows for searching (fwd and rew)
smallest output (to get as many of the movies on the Axim)

Maybe MeGUI or StaxRip for H264. I don't know if they will do it in one step. You may have to convert the DVD to a single file first. Maybe VOB2MPEG to extract the MPEG. Then you should be able to use other programs to complete the conversion. Some programs here: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/video-encoders-h264-vc1

Smallest output may be H264, but it requires a lot of processing prower for conversion and playback. If you wanted a less compact format, but a lot easier and quicker, try Xvid or Divx with a converter like AutoGK or FairUse Wizard. Then all you need is the decrypted DVD file. DVD Fab HD decrypter or RipIt4Me can do that with newer DVDs with advanced encryption, or Fab will work on all older DVDs.
