I have been using ffmpeg to convert my .avis with great success, but for some reason I have one .avi file which plays fine in VLC but when I convert using the DVDffmpeg preset skips frames - and I can't figure out why.

    Can anyone please help?

    Thanks

You mean that the info window says 'skipping frame'? Don't worry about that, it won't be noticeable on playback... I'm not sure what it means though, I guess small glitches in the source file, or maybe it is caused when converting to a different framerate then the source file.

Thanks for that, but the video actually skips frames - wheather I load the ts files in apple DVD player or burn to disc. I've checked and double check that the video and audio rates are the same as the source when I drop into ffmpeg, but for some reason it still skips frames, going from 12 sec to 18 sec to 22 sec etc., on the counter in DVD player.

Just can't get my head round it!

    *Bump*
I have the exact same problem as described above. Does no one know how to fix it?

Only VLC seems to be able to play the "finished" DVDs.
