Hi,
I created a home video that is in avi (dv) format. I tried to use several encoders to convert the avi file to a DVD compatible file to burn to a disk. DVD Flick was the easiest and fastest encoder I used but there are a few places in the video where it looks like there are interlacing artifacts (horizontal lines blurring the video). I don't get this with the other encoders but they are much slower. I tried using 1 pass and two pass, and also tried using the deinterlacing. (The deinterlacing version had the worst results.) Is there some option in DVD Flick that I may be missing that may help? Thanks in advance for your help.

You'll notice that most folks have a number of different apps/encoders that they use. One size does not fit all. -
1. which other encoders?
2. is dvd flick faster than ConvertXtoDVD?Looking for subtitles of: Höök tt0997023, Lime tt0269480, La clé sur la porte tt0077348. tt=iMDb.com Found Desideria tt0081724 subtitle! :-) -
Hi,
I used My DVD V5 (Sonic). Its old but it worked. My wife liked the results so its a done deal. The encoding was slower but I get a full, authored and ready to burn, DVD. (I don't have ConvertXtoDVD so I can't comment on the product.)
I'll try your suggestion Baldrick (FAVC with HCEnc) when I get a chance. But, now that the video is finished I have to finish the livingroom floor and fix the heating system. So it might be a little while. BTW, thanks for the whole website. I'd be nowhere with this stuff without Videohelp.com -

Av2 dvd is also quite slow.
for me: CX2d made a DVD in 80 minutes, four TV episodes and Avi2DVD did it in 4-5 hours.
