Philips DVD963SA/001 firmware installation???

just checked all philips pages and Jeroen Verhaar's sites, but no firmware available, my version is: 5580 4.81.24 030509P 22202300 7.12.0, any help very much appreciated!!!

I found the file 963SA_4-81-25.zip, with these files in it:
flash.bin
09980001.015
download.04c
dummu01, VIDEO CD Movie

and tried to upgrade just with the flash.bin -> negative, no reaction by the player
with all files -> negativ, here the player started something and then gave me an error message

Is 4.81.25 the one to go with and if so, how do I use it? The page is in French....

Unless you are having some specific issue with the player and you KNOW for sure that another firmware corrects the issue, there is no need to update. Also keep in mind, that models that have a long production run, often have hardware changes over time and newer firmware doesn't work on older models.

Thanks for your advise!!! I learned from other web pages that the firmware upgrade could bring 1080i upscaling, although some stated green spots on the screen etc...so I think I better leave it as it is - just as you recommended!
