whenever i play a movie or any video file on my comp it looks discoloured ?

when i play any video file on vlc media player, nero showtime and even wmp 11, it is always discolored and dark reddish. this started yesterday. i tried al my videos but they were the same. i think i know they cause because i installed my pro evolution 6 for pc and chage the resolution of the game, all yesterday, when the problem started. however, i uninstalled the game before i realized the problem. so this morning i went to, http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/mediaadvice/0066.mspx, and they told me to put video accleration on none for wmp 11. which solved the problem but not fot my vlc player. any one have a clue whats going on? thanks in advance

A overlay / hardware acceleration video settings problem. What is your graphic card? ATI or Nvidia? You should be able to change color settings for video playback under the control panel->display->settings->advanced.
