  1. Since I formatted my computer the DVD ROM will not perform.When I insert a DVD it takes ages to detect it. Sometimes it doesn,t detect it at all. It won,t start in autoplay and it always used to. If it does detect a disc the whole computer freezes. A reboot is needed then. Im using either POWER DVD 4.0 XP or WINDVD nad they both wont operate. This is what Im running.
    WINDOWS 98
    AMD K6-2 500MHZ
    ELSA GLADIAC 32MB TV OUT PCI
    MICRO ATX AL 14 MOTHERBOARD
    SAMSUNG DVD ROM SD-608
    What am I missing. HELP PLEASE.

  3. YES! But very slowly and also not autorun. It always used to.

  4. Sounds like the drive is broken and may need replacing.
