    After editing a mpeg in Tpmgenc, the new file that it creates isn't not a mpeg, it's not even a divx or avi!
    It comes up as a data file and won't play, and it also won't open at all so I can make it a mpeg again!
    What am I doing wrong?

    Just add mpg extension to your file.
