When I try to play a clip in Vegas 6, I get an error msg:
The deviced specified is in use.
The playback device Microsoft Sound Mapper does not exist.
I have my camera powered down, but connected. I've brought Vegas up and down and the msg still occurs when I try to play the clip. I don't see any other windows using video.

I may have inadvertently gotten rid of it by pressing the dotted rectangle with a page inside it shown the post above. I became curious about it. I do see the red "report' symbol in the higher post list (editing, cutting, ...)
In any case, I rebooted and the message is gone. Probably some of the large number of windows I had open contained something that XP got confused by.
