Ok THis is what I'm trying to accomplish and why. What I want to do is play a game on my computer but being able to sit on a comfortable couch with a huge screen. So this is what I was thinking. I have an old sony VIVO with video and audio outputs I was going to just get a regualr old AV wire and hooke it up to my TV will that work why or why not? Is their something else I can do or is there an easy way. I was just going to buy a wireless controller for my computer so it will strech far enough.
Thanks for all the help
Cheers

Unless you have a new(er) video card and DVI/HDMI inputs on your TV, it isn't really worth the hassle. Composite or S-Video output to a TV will get you a resolution of 640x480, maybe 800x600 tops. Which makes pc use difficult at best, especially on the eyes. And doesn't do games justice.

YEP, what krispy said, the s-video of my laptop is pretty bad
now if the TV in question is LCD wide screen, then you can use the VGA output of the PC to the VGA input of the TV, choose the VGA input from the TV menu , set it on true ASPECT, and get the max res of whatever your vaio's graphics chip is
of course you need a separate audio cable but thats the easy part just plug an adapter into the headphone jack on the PC -
BAHH!!!
People used to do it before HD even existed, used to run Unreal Tournament on regular big screens and it kiked @$$, just sucked without a wireless keyboard and mouse :P -
