    Hi!
Right now I have a problem playing an encoded file with XviD 1.1.2 Final
gspot tells me so and when executed with MPC or WMP the video does not show whereas when executed with VLC it does play
Gspot says the XVID codec is installed so
Why MPC and WMP do not play the video back as it should
What's the likely problem here? thanks

Your Xvid codec would be the obvious choice as the problem. If VLC plays it, then that would point to a codec problem. In Gspot, try the 'Proposed Codec Solutions and Tests' for the video and see what path it uses.

  3. Note that VLC has an xvid decoder built in so it doesn't rely on an installed xvid codec like WMP and MPC do. I would uninstall and reinstall the xvid codec.

  6. If you have Xvid installed go to Start -> All Programs -> Xvid -> Configure Decoder. Under FourCC Support make sure all boxes are checked.

I have found what is wrong with Xvid installation the xvid.ax server was not registered nor it was possible to register. It was locked by the system so I used unlocker to remove it. Now I want to install Xvid again and Windows would not allow to register it
