VCD MENU CREATION IN NERO 5.5

I have made a test slideshow svcd with Nero5.5 burned to cdrw.Can anyone explain the following as this is what I get:
1.A new menu is created after every 8 jpegs dragged into the creation window.
2.Although Windows explorer shows that the cdrw has 141 mpg's I am only able to view 99 of them on my Toshiba sd210e dvd player.
Is the 99 viewable mpeg's part of the (S)vcd compliancy.It would be a shame if so as you could fit thosands of jpg's on one cdr.
Any help appreciated.
