My Mitsubishi DLP HDTV pixellates when there are a ton of camera flashes/light strobes going off on the screen, could this be caused by a sheap HDMI cable provided my Comcast or a tv problem?

  2. Or IMHO it is the signal from Comcast that is pixelating and not the TV.

Did you use this TV for HD from Comcast HD before?

Anyway it really sounds like what you get when the video doesn't have enough of a bitrate. IE fast moving scenes and things with rapid changes which a camera flash or strobe lights would qualify as.

Can you hook it up to a OTA signal from an antenna and compare the same channel?

It's your TV, my Sony LCD rear proj. does this with intricate, very shiny scenes such as beach waves and shiny lights or really fast action like a basketball game. The TV just doesn't regenerate the picture fast enough. It doesn't happen often, just sometimes on certain scenes. It's normal. I suppose some TVs are worse than others. I bought the LCD RP HDTV specifically because I thought it was a little better on the pixelization prob than the DLPs that I observed at Best Buy. Rear projection TVs are known for this.

oh ok, Yea it only happens occasionally. Not enough to bother me. 99% of shows/dvds are fine. Only 1%, like I said strobe lights, a large amount of camera flashes or the occasional quick camera movement during a sporting event. Thanks for the info.
