How record DVD on samsung DVD-R135 and watch on other machines

Hello,

I recently purchased a samsung DVD-R135. I have a DVD/monitor in my car. In order to cope with the hectic 2 hours of traffic too and from work, i decided to record my cable satellite channels on DVD and watch them in my car.

I attempted at first with a DVD + but that didnt read. The manual stated DVD-R so i tried that out. It recorded it and i thought all was well but when i tried to watch it in my car, it didnt work. I tried to watch it on my laptops DVD player and that didnt work. Followed the manual by the letter and tried it again but still it doesnt play on any other DVD machine.

What am i doing wrong???
