  1. I made a VCD and it works great...but I want to copy it to VHS format. I currently own a STB Velocity 4400 TNT card, that has an option to use a tv as a video monitor. I then thought I would be able to add a vcr to that and then just press record. But when I connect the computer to the tv, the image is messed up (there is no horizontal hold, the image keeps moving)...I tried connecting the vcr to the computer (without the tv) and just pressed record...it recorded the same image that was shown on the tv...I don't know how to make this work...Also, I own a standalone DVD player. I know it is not possible to copy DVD's because of some "macrovision" (spelling?) signal that is sent along with the DVD. Would this signal be sent with a VCD? I mean, is it possible for me to just connect my dvd player to the vcd directly and then press record??? If what I am talking about would not work at all, I would appreciate it if you could tell me what hardware/software I need to copy a VCD to VHS tape...thanks in advance...Adam

You asked if one could use your standalone DVD Player to play the VCD and record to VCR. Yes, macrovision does not (yet) exist on VCD's.

I have rcorded several DVD movies to VHS with perfect quality, that is, the quality is just as good as a factory VHS tape. I connected the RCA video and audio left and right outputs of the DVD player to the RCA a/v inputs of the VCR and just pressed play as you mentioned.
