Where are good places to look for old broadcast cameras? Got to be some options besides ebay that I just don't know about. I'm in Southern California, happy to go into good shops, not online. Any tips appreciated.

    Thanks again,

Craigslist is good because you can stay local to inspect the equipment before you buy. Many tripods but you need to monitor every day and know what to look for. The good stuff goes fast. I saw a full Bogen rig for $150 in Austin. Worth over $800.

Prosumer DV cameras are rapidly dropping in price as people move to HDV.

In your case, Prosumer S-VHS is very cheap now.

Craiglist has some for sale - but not as cheap as ebay. However, that said, the equipment is probably in better working condition than that found on ebay. For price alone: ebay.

Condition is everything. Broadcast Equipment is generally expensive to maintain and extremely expensive to have repaired. That is why so much broken stuff is found on ebay.

You want to inspect and know what to look for.
