ive got a 90mhz compaq lte w/16mb of ram. (ive got a cdrom)could it be possible to play vcds?? if so, what software would you recommend? if not, if i upgraded to 150mhz, and 32m of ram, could that do it? thanks alot-

Theoratically, yes. Whe running DOS and a good Dos-mpeg player it should be possible to play VCD's on a 90Mhz Pentium. I wouldn't recommend it, but it can be done. If you're currently running Windows9x it will probably not work.
A 150 mhz 32Mb would work a lot better, but best would be (if you wanne run under windows9x) to get at least a 166MMX with 32/64Mb.

Well, it depends what you mean by "play VCDs". The movie will run, but the motion will likely not be smooth, to the extent that you will become quite annoyed.

yea the movie will play crappy on the pentium
i also haf a slow labtop and windows 95(heh heh) and tried playin som vcd and it was like horrible
maybe i'll try the dos (hmmm) -
Well, I used to have a P133 and tried playing VCD's. The video was broken AND blocky. Just horrible! You'll need at least a Celeron for "decent" playback.

dont listen to them... i have a p100 w/ 24mb of ram that i play vcds on just fine in 95, i think i used Xing, not sure, it was a while ago, but it was ok.
