    I am trying to get video from my sony dv camcoder to the computer save it, and then send the video by email to family and friends. Any suggestions?

    hook up your camcorder via firewire to your computer. and use movie maker (make sure you update to ver. 2 via windows-update). That program is pretty basic and easy to use. Templated import/export options are straight forward. Just keep in mind, anything you shrink down small enough to email, is going to be "bad " quality.

    thanks for your reply. Is it import or capture I'm using? I want to email movies recorded on my dv camera tape. Which is the first step?
