I have a Mad Katz scratch remover. Looks like a cd walkman, but has buffer heads instead of an optical setup. Uses one set of buffer heads to basically grind off a layer of plastic(obviously very small), then you replace the heads with a polishing ones that smooth it all out. Works well on aggressive scratches.

Try Fellowes CD/DVD Scratch Repair Kit. They should be available at OfficeMax and maybe at other places as well. It uses some chemical-soaked cloths that soften up disc plastic just enough to rub out scratches. It may require some hard rubbing on deep scratches, but it works better than anything else I've tried.

The fellowes kit is only for minor marks but the madkatz kit will remove deep scratches.

Yes, the Fellowes kit is claimed to work only for "minor" scratches. But it will work with deeper scratches as well if you rub hard enough. Still better than those Skip Doctor things and various polishes.

I have fixed hundreds of scratched discs, without a hitch.

Got it from a place in California that sells them.
