  1. I would like to capture tv shows, mostly sitcoms which are 30 minutes long minus commercials. I would like to capture to whatever format it doesnt really matter, and then convert to divx. I'm looking to make the shows about 100mb each, or less for cartoons. If these sizes are unrealistic please let me know. I'm looking to spend $125.00 or less (from http://www.pricewatch.com or http://www.pricegrabber.com or http://www.mysimon.com).

I have no idea what card i should get. Please help me. My system spechs are the following:

    amd t-bird 1.33ghz
    epox 8kha mobo
    512mb ddr
geforce 2 ultra (i dont think this matters)
    Ibm DTLA-307030 deskstar 30gb ata 100 7200rpm
sb audigy (dont think this matters either)

I would appreciate all the help i can get, and thanks in advance to the people that can help me. A definitive answer would be the best. Thank you.

Also I'm using windows 2000 pro

for your puposes you can buy any tv-tuner card based on conexant bt8x8 chipset - it's gonna be not expensive (~$60) but will work fine.
and with your computer you will be able to capture to DivX directly if you set VCD resulution (352x288 for PAL or 352x240 for NTSC) which is OK for TV programs.
