HELP!! I have tried burning a ton of VCD's but have had no luck playing them with my DVD player. I have used Nero, Easy CD Creator and a few different types of CDR's. NO LUCK. I followed the instructions on this site to letter ensuring I used the correct MPG format and the proper burning techniques. I use a Sony 24X cd burner and have even tried burning at very slow speed. No mater what I do my player does not recognize the disk. Does anyone have any experience with the Samsung M301? It is supposed to play VCD's (CDR or CDRW) but I can't seem to get it to work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  2. My guess is that your Samsung M301 DVD player is a piece of crap. I had a Samsung 611 player that would not play ANY CD-R/RW's no matter if they were music, VCD, or SVCD. Even though the manual stated that it could play VCD's. Then I bought a Pioneer 343 and it plays ANYTHING I put in it.

  3. I have a SamSung M301. Using all the software and guides listed on this site, I can play both VCD and SVCD on my system. I use Nero for burning. I would suggest that you start with the basic templates. I use SmartRipper/DVD2AVI and TPMGEnc and all standard templates for VCD. After I got that to work, I tried the SVCD standard templates and they played back with no problems. My M301 system for some reason will not play the XVCD formats. Not sure why, but I use the SVCD. Also tried various templates listed in the Tools section wth success.
