I want to see what´s seen on windows media player on my TV through my external A/D, D/A video converter (Canopus ADVC-110).
Actually I can do this with my Ati Mobility Radeon X300 super video out that comes with my laptop.
I can see what i´m editing in Vegas Video with my external device changing in ´Preferencies´, ´Video Device´and choosing ´OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394/DV´. Is it possible to do this with Windows Media Player, Inter Video Win DVD...?

    Thank you.

I owned a laptop Toshiba Tecra A4 1.73 GHz. Memory 512 Mb. Internal Hd 5400 rpm. External HD Lacie 250 Gb 7200 rpm 8 Mb buffer.

If your video card supports "TV Out", then it shouldn't matter what software you're in, and you shouldn't need your ADVC-110 for this purpose. You should be able to hook up the TV Out from your graphics card to your TV directly, and it should display whatever is on your PC screen.
    If in doubt, Google it.

The application must support mapping a DV player to the IEEE-1394 port in DV format. I hope this gets added to Display Properies someday as an altenative monitor output. Problem is the file must already be in DV format or a future graphics card would need to support hardware DV encoding for this to be used as a general display port.
