    Hello,

I have an avi file ripped from a DVD. I believe the avi has been ripped as
5.1 audio. As a result, when playing it with just 2 speakers, the volume is
very very very low, barely audible.

Is there any way to play all the 6 channels on the 2 speakers so that the
sound will become more normal? I don't want to reencode the file.

    My system is win98se.

    Thanks.

  2. If you're using AC3Filter go to the config dialog and turn the Master Gain all the way up.

This may be a silly question, but how do I use AC3Filter to play the avi? I have got Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic.

Do you have it installed? If so, it should automatically decode the AC3. Use Start -> All Programs -> AC3Filter -> AC3Filter Config. On the Config dialog, go to the System tab and select Prefer AC3Filter. On the Main tab adjust the Master Gain.
