  1. I've been using ulead dvdmf for a while now and never had any problems, but recently my comp crashed and i had to re install dvd mf 3. After i installed it i made sure i installed all the necesserary codecs and i tried to make a dvd. I import the video with no problem. Then i run into a problem. At high quality the dvd would turn out to be 7gigs i need it to be 4.7. So i changed the bitrate to a lower rate and the size wont get smaller any suggestions? thanks

Have downloaded/installed the MF3 Update Packs? There was a fix for the size estimates.

Are your source videos already dvd compliant? If so, and you have the option to "Do not convert compliant mpeg files" checked, the program won't re-encode to your new settings.

Are your source videos already compliant for the type of disc you are creating?

What are the attributes of your source files? and what type of disc are you creating?

Are you going by the "Size estimates" in the program, or are you actually burning the DVD to folders on your hard drive, and then checking the size of the resulting DVD FOlders?

  6. This often happens if you have NTSC material but the output set as PAL (or vice versa) or you dont have the "Dont mess with Compliant MPEG" setting enabled.

And the patch the other guy mentioned....

  7. Go to the Project Settings dialog and turn off "Do not convert compliant MPEG files".

If I remember correctly, MF3 keeps its converted MPG files around in its working folder. Unless you uncheck the "Do not convert..." checkbox (or find the temp MPG files and delete them) it will continue to use the previous conversion, even if you change the bitrate rate.
