  1. Supermedia store is a great store, that's a fact, I have bought there everything from SD Cards to DVD Media and never had any problems.

Now, what I would like to know is that if their own-branded dvds are good.
Has anyone tried the DVD01X0278 Supermedia 4X DVD-R media shiny silver in cake box ?

I tried nomorecoasters.com but the media code is not listed there, and ratings are still not availiable to this product.

If you have tried this discs or other supermediastore brand discs, please post your comments.

  5. THE WORST CRAP EVER.

All failures are bad burns. They were Linkyo coded I think. Crap. I threwthe remainder in a crappy plastic bag (they were loose) and sent them back for a refund. NEVER AGAIN.

Ido buy from Supermediastore but never their house stuff ever again. WORST CRAP EVER

  6. If it is anybody's private store brand, it is the cheapest they can find. Since even some of the name branded stuff is basically unusable, store brand is a real "crap" shoot, and I do mean Crap. Nyah Levi

Once again I have had a VERY diffrent experience... They are printable discs and out of the 20 I used so far no problems...I will give and update on the media code when I get home but they aren't Linkyo as far as I can remember (I like linkyo - they really work well for me)

That code is a stock # Not media code - My cake boxes say the same thing - they are Mitsubishi Chem Corp - look up the media code in the media section (4x) - they are well rated...

  12. Here are two ads from supermediastore both for X4, shiny silver ( in the fine print, the first ad says matte ), dvd-r media. They identify one manufacturer as Vanguard which not very good and the other as "generic".

I most certainly do not get those Vanguards...the dye problems in the ratings a totally non-existant on my batch, they have matte tops (printable) and they much work better than any CMC magnetics discs I have tried. I got mine as part of the Memorial Day sale 100 Yuden 4x & 100 of these + 100 Sleeves for $45. I am totally satisfied

There will always be somebody that loves crap because they have good luck. But it's often temporary, as bad media like this has no staying power. The odds are against you.

  16. Final cost of disc = (Total amount paid ) / ( number of good disc)
number of good disc = Total number of disc - coasters
Time spent on testing cheap media will add to final cost.
The bottom line is cheap media will Cost More

  17. That is right, when I bought cheap media I always had to test each disc after the burn to make sure that it was a good one. I spent a lot of time doing that, now I can skip that step knowing that with my TY's it's very hard to obtain a bad burn.

hi, ive always wonderd, if i copy a dvd are there programs(not nero) that you can scan the dvd in and it tells you if there are freezes or jumps extera. i bet there are hundreds but dont know where to look, preferably free.
p.s for a great deal on verbatim 4 you guys in the uk try apr media it is 7 pounds for 25 disks 8x non-prinatable, you can get at least (probably more) 10 cake boxes (250 disks) deliverd next day by courior for 6 pounds. i think this is good, soz for the mixed message in the forum but i already posted here

This would be Mitsubishi or Prodisc. I doubt they'd be sold as "house brand" because these discs have more value. And they are 4x rated media, should not burn 8x on them.

They said supermedia. This was the sale they had 2 weeks ago when they (supermediastore) gave TY 4x shrink wrapped and 2 -50 ct. cake boxes of Supermedia 4x plus the 100 paper sleeves all for $45. The supermedia is the supermediastore.com "house" brand???? Am I wrong????
