How do I achieve a similar effect to this with my editing program? I use Sonic Vegas Video 4. I believe I would be reducing the midtones but I myself have not been able to do this effectively. Thanks

85 views and no response? There must be a certain lack of talent here.

  4. Do it in Director or Flash? Eaxctly what kind of effect are you talking about? They used several. I think it would be a better idea to more thoroughly define what particular effect you are talking about.

I mean, there was the talking corpse? There was Kevin's glasses. How about the car chases? I know, it's that "Yellow Bastard!"

I just think before you start insulting people's talents, you curb your impatience and/or be more detailed about what you're looking for.

Common courtesy is way too undervalued on the internet.

  5. if you mean black and white with various colors, use two cookie cutters and the color correctors in Vegas 5. Figure it out. Don't come around here and belittle us.

I would not mind knowing. I think we need animation people in here so that we can dwell in the realm of animation in our daily video clips that we create..... We need more patience as well I guess...

Maybe they just felt that since you don't even know the real name of the editor you use, that it would be worthless to try to describe anything to you?

...HOW CAN YOU EXPECT ANYONE TO ANSWER YOUR MORONIC QUESTION?

First of all, you ask an insanely general question. There were thousands of effect shots in the film. Every scene had a different feel to it, with different special effects, and different techniques. Take the time to ask a specific question and people might be able to assist you.

Second, you waited all of five hours and then chose to insult the level of talent of everyone here. Smart move.

Third, you've named some strange software package that doesn't even exist. Sonic Vegas Video? Perhaps if you actually purchased your software, you'd know what it was called, and people might be a little more inclined to offer you some advice.

There may or may not be a lack of talent here, but there's certainly a lack of respect on your part.

    Keith.

I asked a general question and expected (would have been pleased to receive) a general answer. Sorry but I needed it in a hurry and I was frustrated.

rkgibbons, familiarize yourself with Sonic Foundry Vegas. Its a great program, its a shame you're ignorant to its existence.

    Thanks hexxisoft and madvideos

    Have a nice day

  14. edit - I guess Sony owns Sonic Foundry. So eag182 would be correct. You may have better luck on one of those forums-

Vegas has been branded Sony for the past two versions. The Foundry name hasn't been used since version 4. Continuing to use it to seem cool is just a failure to let go.

You want a general answer ? OK then.

    Your question was

How do I achieve a similar effect to this with my editing program?

    My answer is

By knowing how to use it.

Well, not trying to be an ass, but Sonic is a company that makes DVD authoring tools, and happens to be a company that gets discussed on these forums quite regularly....so there's considerable difference between Sonic and Sonic Foundry.

Having said that, I'm not the grammar police, and I'd like to apologize for jumping down your throat. I just take exception to someone asking a question and then insulting people for not answering it...
