  1. I tried using dvd decryptor and clonedvd2 and each one stops at the same spot. dvddecryptor stops at 97%, and i've found out the file that's causing the problem is the 5th vob. This vob is only an extra and i dont need it. This is strange because the disc is in PERFECT condition. Is there a way to... copy everything but the 5th vob and make a copy otu of it?

    Download the latest version of DVD Decrypter. Don't tell me you have it, just do it. It should be 3.5.4.0. Try again. It this doesn't work, then the latest AnyDVD will probably do it.

    What is the disk ?

    It is a flaw in the disk or the copy, but not copy protection. This disk you are ripping is a copy (+R), so either it is screwed or dirty. If this was sold to you as an original, then you have been ripped off.

    Theoretically, you could simply copy the folders to your hard drive, then copy them back as a DVD Video using Nero or CopytoDVD or {insert your burning software here}

    i would copy the first 4 VOB's from the disc, use mpeg video wizard to combine the vob's to an mpeg, and then re-author.

    The flaws is with the disk.

    If you dont need the last vob, you can use IFO Edit to correct the original IFO and BUP files, with only the four vobs.

    This way, you can discard the 5th vob.

  9. If the vob is truly only extras, you could try to rip just the movie files in DVD Decrypter or Smartripper. Then use the old freeware version of DVD-Fab (from the Mr. Bass site) 0.17 and it will create the ifo and bup files.

  11. Maybe try DVD Shrink? It's the easiest way to chose what you do or don't want. If the bad sector is in the extras, then don't take the extras. That simple. I have had to this a couple times.

  12. You could give IsoBuster a try to extract the files to your harddisc. Helped me on some badly scratched media.

  14. I would tend to suggest DVDShrink in reauthor mode. If that fails then ISOBuster.

    This read error is most likely caused by a scratch or other foreign element on the surface of this disc.

    Fortunately, this isn't your original disc as you stated in the title, so I'd say put your original in the drive and make a copy from that.

  16. Do a read error test with dvdinfopro or a surface scan with Nero CD-DVD Speed Test. I have bumped with flawless discs without dirt or scratches that drove me crazy thinking what could happened when I got the same error message. In the end it was that even though the disc was visually flawless, it had several read errors that these two programs detected.

    Have you tried to just "drag and drop" the files to your HD?
