Problems Using Roxio Video CD Creator

Help!!

I've spent the last 48 hours trying to burn a VCD using Roxio's Video CD Creator. I created an mpeg file using Arcsoft's Video Impression (which plays fine on my laptop)and was able to burn a CD-RW after many attempts (previous erros were "not enough space", only 22 megs or "track errors found&quot. Seems to work better with 4-10x write speed CD-RWs (Imitation) instead of the 16x CD-Rs (Fujifilm) I have.

However, when I inserted the CD-RW into my DVD Player (Pioneer 333) it recognized it as a VCD, displayed the total time as 9982.2 but displayed the time for track 1 as 0.??. Also, when I hit the play button, "play" is displayed on the DVD player but nothing happens. What's going on? Any clues anyone? I would appreciate any help so I can get some sleep! Thanks in advance.

I have a QPS Firewire CD Burner (24x10x40) using a firewire connection with my Dell Latitude Laptop on which I am running Windows2000.

I am assuming you have made data cd's with this drive and software so you are certain the combination is working. So, are you sure your mpg is standard vcd format? If not, demux and remux to vcd standard with tmpgenc. Then try burning again, at the slowest speed of your burner. If it still doesn't work, try your cd on another player. If that doesn't work, you could try another software - a trial of Nero is available and it's good. I know I got better results with Nero and WinOnCD than with EZCD (which I think is what you are using?).

I've posted about this a few times now, but EZ CD creator 5 does not create legitimate VideoCDs. A few players will play them, but many will not. The problem is with your authoring software.

Use VCD Easy or Nero, and contact Roxio and complain. Unless enough people hassle them about it they'll never fix it.
