Hi guys, just made a 2.1 Gig MPEG2 file from an AVI. I had planned to span it accross 3 disk but when I open up merge and cut through TMPGE/MPEG TOOLS, (I selected MPG2 super vidCD(VBR), when I converted I used CBR worked out with a bitrate calc) And add the source stream to it, double click to get the range window, it does not display start or finish times, and I cannot seem to set the cuts that I want in the range window(approx 38mins per CD) can any one help with this problem, is it a TMPG problem, is there another easy to use cutter like TMPGE out there? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers in advance Dave.

Hmm, I've never used TMPGEnc for cutting MPEG-2 files, but I hear it sucks. I rarely cut MPEG-2 files, but when I have to I use M1-M2 Edit (See "Tools" section on left). I think you will get better results using it over TMPGEnc.

Go into the Tools section, there is a n MPEG2 Plugin for TMPGEnc. You will have to install it to cut MPEG2 files with TMPGEnc.

thanks guys for the replies, as I posted this I looked further down the page and noticed a guy with the same problem. The advice was to use bbmpeg to cut, and having tried it now I swear buy it, I'm not suffering from lip sync problems as I have with other programs. I strongly recommend it.
Cheers all
Dave
