  1. well im afraid that your software will not work with my dvd player. it works with everbody elses dvd player that i give the dvd a loan of but it will not work on mine. the problem is that the frames keep freezing for a second and then continues on. sometimes it stops completely after a couple of minutes. ve mainly used the dvd preset for mpeg2enc and ffmpeg ive also changed the frames bitrate. i just cant understand how it works with everybody elses player even though there is nothing wrong with mine
All i want to do is take over the world. Is that so wrong?

  2. Which is your player brand and model? The DVD Players list in this site could carry some user information about known incompatibilies. Also make sure to use "DVD mpeg2enc" if your player is very picky and also try the options "Constant bitrate" and "Closed GOP" and/or "GOP headers". Hopefully you can burn to a DVDRW so as to make multiple tests and avoid coasters.

unfortunately i don't have a real solution but i have a similar issue since 2x dvd-r are hard to get. i have an old LG which has exactly the same skips and freezes you are mentioning since burning to 4x or 8x dvd-r. the same dvd-r are playing fine either on my second divx/dvd-player or on my friends' player.

  4. im using a pioneer 757ai dvd player. i can burn to a dvd-rw using an external lacie burner. im going to try some of them other options. i'll let u know how i get on. it will probably be tomorrow before its finished as i only have an imac g3 500
