i dont want to install the wrong codec pack for XP. what one should i download?

Just download the Codecs that you need,Having to many may cause problems.

I use pretty much the xvid codec for anything. You can't go wrong with that. For other codecs I would just download as you need them. No Codec packs. Especially downloading packs off of the internet from some googled site. You'll get yourself a virus or spyware quickly doing that. Alot of these packs are filled with crap you will never need and they may conflict with other codecs
