    i have a sony digital 8 camcorder i got as a gift. is there a way i can transfer the data on digital 8 tape like i can do with mini DV using firewall card?

    read the mannual, but normally its the same process as mini-dv.

    I have a Sony D8 camcorder and use Premiere to tranfer video to tape via firewire. Use Export to Tape function under File-->Export Timeline-->Export to Tape.

    There is something you should know however. Your camcorder must be DV-in enabled IF bought in a EEC country. The DV-in capabilities are disabled by Sony at the factory.

    The EEC retailers want to avoid paying that extra tax which is compulsory on camcorders used as VCR's.

    What about Hitachi's?

    MIne doesn't have DV in but i wish it did
