  1. been having trouble lately burning from TMPGenc to DVD-RW discs - the last three burn jobs come up as "not readable" by my sony player, and the PC does not recognise the disc when I reinsert it in the drive. Each of the burn jobs has been on a different DVD-RW disc, so it's not the disc itself. as far as TMPGenc is concerned, everything went OK. Same amount of time as usual, no error messages at the end of the job.

This all started just after I transferred some files from another machine (at work) via burning the files to a CD, taking the disc home, and copying them to my home machine.

Before this file transfer, everything worked perfectly.

It occurs to me that a virus may have been conveyed through this file transfer. Are there any viruses known to cause a DVD burn job to produce unreadable files?

This machine is not connected to internet, otherwise I would go to Symantec for a cleaning.

I highly doubt it was a virus.

Tmn, there is not a virus that could do that.
