using ulead dvd movie factory and dvd workshop for vcd

I have a small project going on that I would like to send to several family members on a VCD. The file size is not a problem. everytime that I make the VCD, it will not play on set top dvd (Sanyo). and in the computer it opens up and shows all the folders. I am using these programs to make my DVD-r and DVD-rw and the Sanyo plays them fine.
I have used Cd-Rw trying to not make coosters........could this be the problem? I like these programs for DVDs but can't seem to get them to work for my VCDs.

any suggestions?

Does you Player play VCD's? If it does it,,may not play CD-rw's?You may need to try it on a CD-r,To play on the PC you need VCD playing software.
