    i have latest version of TMPGenc it will not open avi files the message reads 'avi cannot open or unsupported' i have read everything about settings etc but nothing works, mpeg is not problem it loads them
    HELP PLEASE

    Well MICHELLE maybe your avi files are Divx TMPGEnc has big troubles opening DIVX file try to uncompress the avi file with virtualdub and extract the audio to a wav file

    Or just open the Divx in VirtualDub and frameserve it from there.

    You need to install the DivX 3.11a codec. I had the same problem. After installing had no problems. Hope this helps.
