mpg2(with ac3) -> DivX/Xvid

I have 4 mpg2 files with AC3 sound that I would like to convert into 1 AVI file (divx or xvid)

Is there any simple way to do this, with freeware software?

Please help! I'm going cracy trying to figure it out.

Thanks, but...

virualdub seems to only do 1 file at a time, vidomi crash when I hit encode, xmpeg is somehow working, but on the first try the file ended up uncompressed, on the second try it just crash. Flaskmpeg seems to be the same as xmpeg in different wrapping, so it just crash when I try to start encoding.

I will reboot my computer and try xmpeg again.
