I am using DVD Decrypter to rip and write my DVD backups in ISO mode along with DVD Shrink. I have Win XP. I have looked through these forums, but can't seem to find exactly what I would like to know.
I have been putting a check in the Verify after Write box in Decrypter, thinking it would make the finished product better. I've only done about 12 backups and once in awhile the verify part "hangs up" and won't continue. The DVD won't play, but since I do them on +RWs I erase the disc and write again, without the check in the Verify box, and it completes successfully and the DVD plays fine.
Should I always try to verify after writing information to a disc? I realize it takes longer, but that's not an issue.
Thanks

Somebody once told me "only for the data you care about".......
I always verify after write. However, I do not use the "verify after write" button on the dvd burning program.
I do my verification in a different DVD reader reader or writer, and I either use a program like "FileSync" to do a bit-by-bit compare if I wrote files to a disk, or use CDCheck or Nero's CDSpeed to verify that the burn is good... -
