3rd should have been the end, it would have been a good ending IMHO.
Instead like most things in Hollywood, it will die a slow painful death. -
I see a lot of people on fark complaining about it. I personnaly think this is one series that kicks ass. I thought all 3 were awesome and 4 takes the storyline post doomsday. They don't even need Arnold anymore cause in this timeline he hasn't even been created yet.... I just hope they don't **** it up and pull a Matrix 3...... or a Phantom Menace....
"Terminated!" :firing: -
Did anyone ever pick up the McFarlane series Terminator 3 figures? They are sweet.
I've got the Terminator with the coffin, like in the movie.
IMO, the Terminator franchise is still alive and kicking. What they NEED to make is a Robocop vs Terminator movie like the Dark Horse comic book. Now That would kick ass 8) -
After a good movie the chance of a good sequel is reduced by 50%. Each good sequel removes another 25%

Where's the source of these statistics?
Just because a movie makes money doesn't mean it's good.
What's the standard? What makes T3 suck? -
Source? My ass obviously.
Actually I liked T3, even though I thought it was a a little light in places. (which goes into a trend way to large to explain in this thread) Its a 4th that worries me. I see the 3rd being good as sort of a welcome surprise, but I'm willing to bet that if they try again we'll then they will have pushed their luck to far.
If they are gonna do it, I'll hope for the best. But as usual secretly expect the worst. -
I wish the Robocop series hadn't been pissed away. It was sad to see that one go, but I sorta saw it coming after part 2
At least Batman will have a resurgence after it was abandoned by Burton and shitted on by Bruckheimer. Hopefully Batman will be good! -

I guess the ending is open ended, leaving you to assume that's how John Connor came to lead the resistance, knowing all the stuff he knew and commanding forces from that bunker letting them know of the Skynet takeover. You still don't see the actual war. If they're gonna portray judgment day, the aftermath, and the resistance and all that, it better kick ass. That's all I have to say.

Personally, I thought T3 was really light when compared to the first 2. The only part I liked was the crazy chase scene in the beginning with the crane. But that's just my opinion. I'm not a big sci-fi fan.
The main problems I have with a 4th episode are:
1. Arnie wouldn't be available, and he's been a big part of the Terminator franchise. As far as many are concerned, Arnie IS the Terminator. It's going to be really hard to fill his shoes.
2. The whole premise was that they were trying to prevent the war between people and the machines, aka "Skynet". Since it happened anyway, and their was a nuclear exchange, it would appear that the Terminator failed.
But I'm sure they'll explain #2 away. I wonder who'll replace Arnie. The Rock, maybe? I'll catch it when it comes on satellite.
Oh yeah, in T3, when he takes the stripper's clothes and puts on his star-shaped glitter sunglasses, then throws them away, I think it would have been a lot better if he'd have kept them and worn them throughout the movie.
It would have made more sense that a machine wouldn't have a sense of style, plus it would have been a lot funnier. Or he could have worn them until they got knocked off his face or something and he lost them. But since I wasn't asked to direct this particular film - oh well, their loss.
Also, whatever happened to the movie version of "Duke Nukem"? I have a friend that was looking forward to it.... -

I thought part 3 had more closure then the other two. It took the story full circle and made a definitive ending to the trilogy. They keep sending terminators to try and kill Connor to prevent him from becoming mankind's saviour, and in doing so they turn him into just that. Ignoring the glaring paradox of this premise, (I know there are bonified theories to avoid the paradox but the movie justifiably doesn't need to go into them) it all wraps up nicely at the end of part 3. It shows how the actual war starts and why Connor becomes the leader. Its basically a plot filler movie, it ties up all the loose ends.
If they just pick up from there in part 4 I think it will be very anticlimatic. We know there is a going to be a big war and that the humans will win. I don't think we need to see that. The real interesting part was how the machines tried to preemptively kill Connor.
But with that said, I never understood how people could have a problem with another movie in any series coming out. People seem to argue that since part X is bad, it taints the previous ones. How? Like, how do Ep. I and II make the original triology any worse? If you don't like the prequels just don't watch them. So I don't mind if they make another Terminator, I just don't really expect it to have much substance.
I didn't even like part 3 that much. My main problem was with the casting of John Connor. I don't know that actor's name but he looks like such a wuss. I wonder why they didn't just go with Eddie Furlong? He should be about the right age. I also thought it was dumb how the "Terminatrix" could control other machines. It makes for a nice chase but it reminded me that cheesy movie Maximum Overdrive where all the trucks start coming to life. And that little part where they showed how the first Terminator got Arnie's voice. It was like something you'd see on a Disney World ride. -
Nick Stahl
He was also in Bully and HBO's Carnivàle.
Also, check out The Internet Movie Database for movie info. It's got just about everything.... -

BOTH John Connors were spindly, wimpy-looking "victim types" who weren't believable as a "hero of the world".
Does this remind anyone of the piss-poor casting done in Karate Kid when they picked Ralph Macchio?True, he's a good actor, but a karate champion ...I don't see it. Another "victim type", IMHO

Terminator 1 was a great movie, T2 was even better, loved them both, but T3 was absolutely rubbish, i hated it, but thats just my opinion. Hope they dont screw T4 like they did to T3.
-
I don't know if Eddie Furlong is a wuss now or not, because I don't remember seeing him in anything since T2, when he was a little kid. But I think he ended up marrying his babysitter, which is pretty cool in my book. Basically I just really can't stand the guy they got now. Something about him bothers me. I think its his squished up face.

Edward Furlong
He's been in 9 movies since T2... -
