    SVCD seems to be a big advantage if you have a square television. But if you convert the movie to 480x480 does it crop the sides? Can you play SVCDs widescreen?
    I'm looking for better quality than VCDs but i would like to be able to see all the movie if possible.

    Do not confuse resolution with displayed aspect ratio (DAR).
    A MPEG with 480x480 resoltion will be diplayed as full screen as long as you selected the correct DAR.
