forgive me if this has been asked. I have done some searching.

I need to split some mpeg files. I had some difficulties with mmc presets and ended up with many files that are seven to ten gigs. I want to split them into 4 gigs for burning and archiving. I do not need to author them, nor do I need to preview to split at a specific scene, I just need to cut them at anywhere from 3.5 to 4 gigs. whether they end up as mpegs or vob's I dont care.

Is there a freeware method? I have studio 8 and not only does it take an enourmous amount of time but I often lose audio synch despite the files having proper synch on original playback all the way to the end.

You might try using WinRAR to split the file up into smaller pieces that you can reassemble later.

    Try the Freeware tool MPEG2Schnitt.

Just because you're nobody, doesn't mean that you're no good. Just because there's a reason, doesn't mean it's understood. It doesn't make it all right ! (The Specials)
