burning cdrw

i have a creative cdrw 4224 it burns cdrs just fine. When i try to burn vcds on a cdrw to play on my DVD it will not burn the cdrw. I have used nero 5.0 and ezcd 5.It says that it is burning or(writing), but when finished nothing is there. the files have not been burned. My bunrner seems to not want to burn cdrws.
1.Do i need to format the cdrw?

4.How do i burn the vcds on to a cdrw? Do i need to finalize the cdrw?

You don't need to format cdrw before you burn vcd.
You just burn like the way burning cdr,better to check the the finalize box.
Creative burners are not good ones. This may be the reason.
You may try other brands of cdrw,better use the 650MB ,
not the 700MB.
