  1. I recently converted a @24 fps xvid avi to ntsc dvd (@30 fps) using tmpgenc. The source avi file is 126 minutes, but when I played the DVD
conversion on PC, DVD player says it is only 106 minutes, even though it plays in perfect time. When I played DVD in standalone player, every second, the time display shifts between the correct 126 time and the incorrect 106 time. Standalone player seems to be confused between thinking it's 126 or 106 minutes.

I did nothing fancy in the conversion: used TMPGenc's NTSC template, authored with IFOEdit

    Can anyone figure this out?

It would have been better to convert at 23.976 with 3:2 pulldown.

  3. But under the video tab in the other settings section, the template says
"encode mode: 3:2 pulldown when playback". Do you mean I should reencode keeping the fps at @24? doesn't the fps need to be @30 to say in ntsc compliance?

If the template you were using has 3:2 pulldown in it then it would be encoding at 23.976 fps, pulldown lets the dvd play at 29.97 in the dvd player.
