  2. I'm not familiar with your particular situation, but I'm not encountering similar problems... I'm using Win XP (Home) and don't have any problem opening AVI files w/ tmpgenc 2.01.

    Hope this helps...

  4. I seem to have problem under XP. Whenever I tried to convert a AVI file to MPEG, TMPgenc always generates illegal floating errors. I don't have such problem under Win98. I'm using the same TMPgenc ver 2.01.

  5. I have used TMPGEnc for some time now and are happy with the little mpeg encoder.

Now i have upgraded to Windows XP (professional)
and suddenly i can not use this tool anymore.

I open *.AVI files without any problems.
But when i want to open my captured *.MPG files it tells me that the files is not supported.

The MPG file was captured with Cinax Winvcr 2.0
    @ 320x240 Pal MPEG-1 2xcd
With win98 this was not a problem.
I have met this kind of problem before when i used win2000.

I have updated TMPGEnc to version 2.01
But still this does not help.
I know that this is just a codec or something i am missing,
but i find it difficult to solve this.

I have some experience eith Video and computers by now,
But not too much with win2000/XP

It seem that it's not only me who has this problem and i would like if any1 who know the solution to this problem give us a helpeing hand here. please

I have increased the prioity of the Direct show VFAPI -plug in aswell, but still the file is not supported.

This is a Windows 2000/XP problem and i would be happy if i still could use TMPGEnc to encode my movies.
I think it is the best encoder out there.

I now use Xing MPEG Encoder in the meanwhile
    (the quality really suck!!!)

So please give us some help...

  6. I've been using XP with no problems so far, TMPEG does everything the way it did before, and the illegal floating point errors usually happen when there are too many apps open (dont use the pc while your encoding).

Works fine install all the necessary codecs and make sure your source is not corrupt
