  1. I have file encoded as a VCD and another file encoded as a CVD. So do I author it as a VCD disc or a SVCD disc?

What is the effect on how these files will be shown on the TV screen if I were to choose one over the other?

To make a VCD you need an mpeg1 and for CVD (SVCD) you need an mpeg2. Mixing them would be illegal according to the definitions, but it may be possible. I'd be surprised if it worked in a DVD player.

Since VCD and CVD videos are DVD compliant they could be placed on a DVD together, though not on the same track.

I think that would probably be the least complicated option in this case.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  4. DVD-Lab pro should work well for this project as well, for authoring puposes.
